1912 BPOE Elks Flask - Whiskey, Elk Tooth, Weinhard Beer - Portland Oregon. Antique item. Sold as-is.This treasure belonged to my grandfather. It is a BPOE flask or nip shaped like an Elks tooth, and appears to be porcelain or a ceramic type of material. It says Portland 1912 along with BPOE on one side and includes a picture of an elk and a clock. On the other side is The Lotus, 127 Sixth Street, M. Nelson, Prop., and H. Weinhard's Rheingold Beer on Draught.The significance of the clock's hands pointing to 11 o'clock is that every night at 11 p.m. Elk members honor all other missing members, living or dead.The flask measures 4 1/2" by 2 1/2", and is about 1 5/8" deep. This is a very special piece of history and this flask is in excellent condition. In fact, I find no condition problems at all. It even has the original stopper, with the cork still in great shape.
